HSC Junk Box is a project that I made collaboratively with my coordinator (he doesn't like being called 'boss') Tyler Murphy while employed as a member of AV Services at the University of Calgary Medical School. The piece was created over 6 months by collecting small discarded objects and garbage from around the Health Sciences Building and 'filing' them in the box. The piece serves as an archive for the diverse (and sometimes absurdly strange) garbage that's floating around in an institutional environment, providing a venue for re-examining items that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. The piece was located on my desk and was a popular attraction for visitors to the AV office.
