Once in a Lifetime

Hand-cut solid foam insulation, 30 or so acrylic paintings on MDF. Approx. 6' tall. 2006.

I thought this was a good idea at the time, but the sculpture of the mushroom cloud just didn't turn out quite right. A lot of people thought it was an explosion of water (because of the blue foam and the paintings of swimming pools). Looking back on it, maybe I should have painted the cloud white or grey or something. The Talking Heads reference in the title is also kinda crappy. Oh well ... I think the 'cloud' is gone now. I still have the paintings though. They're not too bad.
