Political Signs

36 cardboard signs with spray painted text. Public intervention. 2008.

Previous to the provincial election in Calgary I made my own signs for each of the candidates in my riding and helped contribute to their advertising campaigns. The piece created an ambiguous clandestine advertising, mocking political advertising in general. Unfortunately, I had my camera on some strange setting so many of the images didnŐt turn out that well. My choice of materials was also problematic as many of the signs fell apart in the wind immediately after being photographed. Turns out the Coroplast ones that the candidates were using are far superior.
